Sundar Pichai and Elon Musk

Sundar Pichai has rarely interacted with Musk on Twitter. While Pichai tends to be reserved about his opinions, Musk is known for speaking his mind.

Sundar Pichai and Elon Musk may be competitors in the tech world, but they remain curious about each other’s innovations. And sometimes, they even praise their rivals when something stands out—remember when Mark Zuckerberg complimented Musk on Twitter’s Community Notes feature? Now, Pichai has congratulated Musk on launching Grok 3, which is being touted as the “smartest AI of all.”

Pichai has rarely interacted with Musk on Twitter. While Pichai tends to be reserved about his opinions, Musk is known for speaking his mind. However, this time, Pichai left a warm comment under one of Musk’s X posts about the Grok 3 release. He wrote, “Congrats on the progress! Look forward to trying it out.” Musk has yet to respond.

Interestingly, Pichai also leads Google’s AI efforts with Gemini, a model that directly competes with Musk’s Grok 3. Musk has claimed that Grok 3 has outperformed some of the biggest AI models, including Google’s Gemini 2 Pro, DeepSeek V3, and OpenAI’s GPT-4o, particularly in science, coding, and math.

One of the biggest highlights of Musk’s AGI model Grok-3 is that it has more than 10 times the computing capability of its predecessor, the team claimed. Musk revealed that the model completed pre-training in early January and is already improving daily. “Literally within 24 hours, you’ll see improvements,” he said during the launch of his product.
